Kick, Punch, Kick!

Working in a medical office has taught me that so many people with problems don't truly have problems and could fix their perceived problems with exercise and diet, along with a good dose of medical science!

Having said that, it is simply NO FUN to start an exercise regime. It is even harder to re-start an exercise regime, as I have done, because one then has to contend with one's nostalgic ghost-twin (that bitch!) the entire time. Well, those of us that are neurotic and slightly OCD do, anyway! This harping echo has led me to take drastic action; namely, doing two things that are completely opposite on the "exercise spectrum:" ballet and karate.

Most people think of ballet as something "pretty" and karate as something, well... not. As an ex-ballerina, I always argued on the side of dance as a hardcore sport - doubly hard because you have to make it look "pretty" while also maintaining some goshdarn artistic integrity. But after learning my third form in my Taekwondo class, Chon-ji, I am learning to appreciate karate as a beautiful art form as well as a "sport." It's kind of a neat feeling to be beautiful and deadly!
